Class 1 & 3 Instructor Course This course is one part of the requirements to become a Class 1 or 3 Driver Instructor in Manitoba. This course consists of four days in the classroom, as well as a road test ( the MTA does not supply trucks for this road test). The purpose of this road test is to test your ability’s as an instructor, not as a driver. Upon completion of this program, you may want to apply for a Manitoba Driver Training Permit. Contact MPI’s Driver Training Permit Unit at 204-985-8063 for information regarding the permit. Professional Driver’s Manual 1. Class 1 Road Test $50. Manitoba licence class Allows the licence holder to operate Minimum age Medical requirements. Participants are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to call MPI before registering for this course to ensure they meet the qualifications to become a driver instructor in Manitoba. Course Fees: $1,000.00 + GST = $1,050.00. REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY: Course registration will close 1 week prior to the course date. Payment must be made in full prior to the course date in order to complete registration. Payment can be made by Credit card, cash, or cheque. Members in good standing will be invoiced, however the cancellation policy still applies. All cancellations must be received by the MTA office, either in writing or by phone, 1 week, 5 business days prior to the course date to receive a full refund. ![]() Any cancellations that occur within 1 week, 5 business days, and prior to 48 hours of the course date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Any cancellations that occur within 48 hours, 2 business days, of the course date are subject to 100% cancellation fee.
